Oh My! It has been awhile since I have been on my blog page. Summer is just a busy time and the past 3 weeks I have been playing Grandma instead of sewing. It is hard to do both if you have small grandchildren. I did make a lot of yo yos and have attached them to a cone for a christmas tree. I also picked up a quilt from the Quilting Cowgirl which I use for all my quilting on my quilts. She does an excellent jobs. I have also been working on fabrics for a twin bed for my Sister to start on. We are using this pattern http://www.wishuponaquilt.com/cgi-bin/Store/store.cgi?cart_id=4424325.24297.s0&product=Patterns&productid=collegebound&sales=0&lastmenu=
It appears to be fast and easy. It is basically 10 inch squares and some 4 patch blocks to equals 10 inch squares with sashing in between. Hard to get any easier than that plus it is a pretty quilt especially if you want to showcase some pretty fabrics or have a theme quilt in mind. We are using Cars and trucks for a toddler's room and I think the quilt will be adorable. I think I will also do my next charity quilt from this pattern. I plan to make another Breast Cancer Awareness Quilt before next year to donate to a Breast Cancer Walk. This would be a perfect quilt for that.
Here is a picture of the Yo Yo Christmas Cone Tree which I think is adorable. You could use those charm packs and come up with a really fast project. I used all my leftover scraps. I have tons of those.
I did see a quilt last night from someone's Pinterest page which was spools of thread and the finished blocks were 4 1/2 inches and done with the log cabin method instead of the usual half square triangles. I also saw another interesting pattern from Black Mountain Quilts which was also for scraps quilts.
